      Screen

Canon EOS R7 and Fujifilm X-Pro3 have 3.0" screens with 1,620k dot resolution. Canon EOS R7 has a Fully Articulated screen which makes it selfie and vlogger friendly and generally very useful for video shooting. Fujifilm X-Pro3 has a Tilting screen which makes it very useful for photography purposes but not so useful for video shooting. Both models feature touchscreen which has advantages such as easy menu navigation, intuitive controls, quick setting adjustment and most importantly a Touch-to-Focus functionality allowing users to select a specific point on the screen where they want the camera to focus. This feature can be helpful for achieving precise focus in both photo and video recording.

      Fujifilm X-Pro3 with Tilting screen

      Viewfinder

Canon EOS R7 has a built-in Electronic (OLED) viewfinder with 2,360k dot resolution and Fujifilm X-Pro3 has a built-in Electronic and Optical (tunnel) viewfinder with 3,690k dot resolution. Canon EOS R7 has 100% coverage with 1.15x (0.72x 35mm equivalent) magnification and Fujifilm X-Pro3 has 95% coverage with 0.78x (0.52x 35mm equivalent) magnification.

      Sensor

      Canon EOS R7 features a 32.5 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor with dimensions of 22.3 x 14.8 mm and a total area of 330 mm2. Its native ISO range is 100 - 32,000 and expands to 100 - 51,200 in boosted mode. Fujifilm X-Pro3 features a 26.1 megapixel APS-C BSI-CMOS sensor with dimensions of 23.5 x 15.6 mm and a total area of 243.4 mm2. Its native ISO range is 160 - 12,800 and expands to 80 - 51,200 in boosted mode.

Fujifilm X-Pro3 has BSI-CMOS sensor, short for Backside Illuminated Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor sensor. In traditional CMOS sensors, the wiring and circuitry are located on the front side of the sensor, which can block some of the incoming light. BSI technology flips this design by placing the photosensitive elements (pixels) on the backside of the sensor, allowing more light to reach the pixels. This significantly enhances light sensitivity and improves low-light performance. BSI-CMOS sensors are particularly effective in low-light conditions, as they can capture more light, resulting in brighter and less noisy images. This makes them well-suited for indoor and night photography. BSI-CMOS sensors deliver a higher SNR and reduced cross-talk.

They both have APS-C sensor but because of a small size difference their crop factors (also called lens multiplier) differ from each other. Canon EOS R7 has the crop factor of 1.6x which means that a 35mm equivalent focal length of the mounted lens will be equal to its actual focal length times 1.6. Fujifilm X-Pro3 has the crop factor of 1.5x which means that a 35mm equivalent focal length of the mounted lens will be equal to its actual focal length times 1.5.

No Low-Pass Filter on Fujifilm X-Pro3

There is no optical low-pass filter (OLPF), also known as an anti-aliasing filter, in front of the sensor on Fujifilm X-Pro3. This results in a slightly sharper image but may also introduce moiré patterns and aliasing artifacts when photographing subjects with fine, repetitive patterns or details.

In-Body Image Stabilization on Canon EOS R7

Canon EOS R7 has a built-in 5-Axis Sensor Shift in-body image stabilization (IBIS) with 6 stops of compensation. This means that you are still getting vibration reduction when camera is paired with non-image stabilizied lenses. It also works with lenses with optical image stabilization and in combination can achieve even better compensation.
